With the MovieGraphic adapter, is there any way we can pause the movie during a trial without losing the data? Also, is there any way the data can be automatically saved throughout the trial (say every 5 minutes) so that if the program crashes, we don't lose all of the data?

I guess you can just cut the movie into shorter pieces and make them separate, consseccutive trials. Disks are too slow to keep up with data acquisition, which is why everything should go to the memory.

That's what we're currently doing, but we end up with a gap in between consecutive trials, even when the ITI is set to 0. We understand that this might be due to the time it takes to load the next movie segment. Is there any way we can get around this by loading the next movie while playing the current one, similar to PlayMoviesWithoutGap in Psychtoolbox (http://psychtoolbox.org/docs/PlayMoviesWithoutGapDemo2)?

NIMH ML plays multiple movies both sequentially and simultaneously, without such a special function, and you can recycle the same movies across trials without creating them again, as long as your system has sufficient memory. But the gap is there to save data and you can't avoid it, which is why ML saves at the end of trials.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for explaining, we really appreciate it!
